I am here to mix things up and spark some inspiration with a non-traditional family photo location! Let’s Go!

When you think of family photo sessions your mind floats away to fields, or grassy parks, maybe even cuddled up on a couch, right? Well, I am excited to show you a whole new world of Family Session locations! I have been shooting in city parking garages for a few years now and every single time I am drawn into the mix of hard concrete and cozy family group hugs. 

The smooth floor and industrial elements highlight the softness of hands being held and carefree joy of father daughter piggy back rides. The light and shadows found on every level create an atmosphere begging to showcase baby’s first steps or Ring Around The Rosy dances between sisters. 

I had the honor or documenting a family of three in Downtown Fort Wayne recently and the memories we created together illustrate what I just described. Mom, dad and baby embraced the new location and made it feel like home. It was chilly so the snuggles were extra close and little man made us work for those smiles. But what this session holds are the ever growing connections of a family, and that is what I am here to capture. Connections within families deserve to be turned into tangible art that is treasured for decades.
